Mark Potter who stood down after 2 years as Chairman of Junior Girls Rugby was thanked for his service to the Club and contribution on behalf of girls rugby at both Club and Sussex level.

The Club’s Honorary Vice Presidents were re-elected en bloc.

The Management Committee proposed to the meeting that in recognition of his long service to rugby at Worthing RFC as a player, youth coach, senior player coach, leader in Club coach the coach sessions and involvement in developing through his employment, local school rugby, that Jon Mill’s significant contribution to Club and local rugby, be recognised by election as an Honorary Vice President of the Club. The meeting was in unanimous agreement and Jon was duly elected.

The meeting then approved subscriptions for the 2012-13 season at the following rates;

The Management Committee then presented proposals for the 2012 -13 season. The Chairman announced that Brian Allen had agreed to act as a Representative for the Non Playing and Social membership of the Club.

The Chairman thanked all volunteers, whether they be coaches, managers, captains or other post holder for the considerable time and effort made and given throughout the season of behalf of the Club and its various teams and rugby activities. The Club’s sponsors were thanked and members reminded to seek the services and goods provided by our sponsors wherever possible and mutually support them as they do us.

Lastly members were reminded of forthcoming social and major events at the Club, where members support was required and welcome;

Friday 13th July – Comedy Club evening
Saturday 21st July – Summer Touch Rugby finals and Club Summer Bar-B-Q Social
3rd-5th August – Music Mania outside event
18th August – Raiders squad warm up games at Westcombe Park
25th August – Raiders warm up game at home to Rosslyn Park and possible Raiders Academy curtain raiser

P.S. For those not aware, the Raiders squad have now started their pre-season training and the Clubhouse is again open on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Come along and enjoy the summer evenings and watch the squad prepare for the season ahead.
